The scope of this document is to provide an overview and instructions for the installation and configuration of the prerequisites of Alfred Desktop.
Alfred Desktop consists of a client component and a backend component. The client is a “fat client” software component which provides the user with a user-friendly user interface for Alfresco, with the look and feel of Microsoft’s File Explorer. The client is a .NET application installed on a Microsoft Windows workstation.
The backend consists of 4 AMP[^1] modules, that enable the client to talk to the Alfresco repository. The backend modules are installed on the Alfresco server.
Alfred Desktop requires the following AMPs to be installed:
Alfred Desktop needs to be configured (at the server side), so the
client can serve the user with specific content model and behavior.
To do this, Alfred Desktop requires a business content-model deployed
and enabled in the Alfresco repository.

Alfred Desktop Administration Guide, section Basic Configuration.
